The Futurenauts

Atlas of the Future presents: THE FUTURENAUTS: POWER, DEATH AND MONEY

Lively cabaret show wrestling with the biggest of questions.

Is your future one full of pant-filling fear? Or are you an eternally glass half-full optimist? Do you lie awake at night in a cold sweat of trepidation about what tomorrow might bring? Or are you bouncing up and down on the bed in sleepless excitement of what's to come? With Donald Trump as US President, tearing through climate and environmental institutions with reckless abandon, is this the end of days? Or is there a warm flicker of fiery future hope from the dismally damp blanket of now? Who's got the power today? How might that change?

Join the Futurenauts, best-selling author Mark Stevenson and sustainability guru Ed Gillespie for this interactive cabaret show as they wrestle with these questions and many more. Special mystery guests to be announced. www.thefuturenauts.com www.atlasofthefuture.org

Purple Ostrich - Vadge of Honour

A feminist comedy lecture by Kerry Fitzgerald and Lise Aagaard Knudsen, presented by Purple Ostrich Productions in collaboration with Byline Festival.

‘Why do people say "grow some balls"? Balls are weak and sensitive! If you wanna get tough, grow a vagina! Those things take a pounding.’

Purple Ostrich are hitting the stage again, this time with a comedy lecture looking at all things to do with owning and maintaining a Vagina. In this post-Brexit pro-Trump era Vaginas are taking a political-pounding- let’s address how, why and what we can do.

Taking a comedic glance at topics such as motherhood, being child-free, the tax on women, abortion legislation and our gal Beyoncé’s latest announcement that she is carrying twins, the ladies will present this show at Byline Festival in June 2017.

Expect another explosive dance-based opening number, recreated film scenes, more
(REAL) casting calls, (Unfortunately also REAL) breaking news reports (e.g. leather-trousers-gate), a new writing piece set in TRUMP-ton and verbatim stories.

You will be initiated into the Family of VADGES and will learn what it really means to Always Be Prepared.
